Player Profile

Dan Karosen was introduced to the team by Mike Conboy & Peter Hiatrides in 2002 during the first attempt to defend the Championship.  He made his debut under the Iranian taskmaster Masoud Vahidi and took over the position formerly manned by Silent Mark Resnik.  He is the stereotypical American keeper who is long, athletic and has lightning quick reflexes.  Dan has worked very hard to develop the finer points of the position such as communication, distribution and angle play, none of which come naturally for him given his background as a field player.  His defining save came against Alliance in the 2005 playoffs when he threw his hands behind him to knock away a late equalizer when he was seemingly beat to secure his first title as a CPR player.  Dan credits Coach Johnny Lincoln and Captain Andy Jones for putting a surprisingly stingy defense in front of him.   He has hired NY's finest PR agency to get this unit a bit of praise in Manny's offense oriented match reports.

Off the field, Dan picks his spots for team drinking sessions.  His Hoboken, NJ location and fledgling marriage provide some limitations for him.  He almost retired during the darkness of the Craig era, but has quietly become a Metroboyz fixture approaching his 50th cap.
