The Whites showed good organization and shape during a tightly contested 1-1 draw against Jersey City Eagles last Sunday. CPR started a little rough with many cheap give aways. Jersey City managed to control some possession, but as the half wore on CPR settled in and relaxed. For the second strait week a short bout of extra effort from George to keep the ball in play and cross it over to Riso, who beat one defender, and with a classy toe poke managed to put the ball on frame. The JC keeper made the first save, but Lasse was waiting to pounce on the rebound and CPR was up 1-0. The match continued with CPR now finding the better spells of possession, but right before half a driving run from a JC midfielder followed by a through ball and a cross which resulted in the equaliser. The ball somehow rebounded in off of a blocked clearing header. CPR was unlucky to not be leading at the half.
The second half displayed a battle in the midfield with neither team being able to create any real dangerous chances. CPR’s best opportunity came when Kwesi finished a ball from behind JC back line, but he was debatably called offsides. The final whistle came with the score at 1-1.
