An evenly matched game in terms of possession & pace, in which only 20 minutes left the score was 3-2 in favor of CPR Blacks, ended 5-3 to Sporting Astoria.

Two shots from the penalty spot in the 2nd half, first was saved by replacement GK Ben Zwicker and second was scored by Sporting, were called for Sporting for foul play in the box.

Goals by newcomer Lance Brune, and returning Brandon Levy/Mike Sevchek, weren’t enough to lock the short-lived lead by CPR Blacks.

CPR Blacks look to get their first points of the season on Sunday 6pm vs Missile FC.

On a side note, congratulations to US Mens National team qualifying for WC2014!
