Central Park Rangers is currently comprised of 7 teams: 6 11-a-side men’s teams and an 11-a-side women’s team. In addition we train weekly all year long and operate club teams to accommodate our membership in off-season Summer & Winter Leagues as well as tours to venues as diverse as Las Vegas & Reykjavik. If you are interested in playing with us, please read the descriptions and contact the appropriate team. If you aren’t sure which team applies to you or to contact the club in general, you can send an email to CPRFC. Please include a detail of your soccer playing history, your age, and your position.
Mens First/Reserve Team
The CPR Firsts play in Division 2 of the Cosmopolitan Soccer League as a result of accepting promotion post championship win in Metro 1 during the 2014-15 season (their first championship since 10 years prior in 04-05). The 2nd Division requires a 2 team squad with a reserve team in CSL Division 2. Playing level is very competitive with most guys having played college soccer or at a similar level. The average age of the players is around 24-25 with the full age range falling between 20-30 as it’s an open level competition. The team encourages hard play and commitment both on the field and at the pub so expect to be held to a high level of performance on Sundays. Lastly, while playing soccer is a dream we all continue to live, we understand family and work come first, but we ask that soccer come next. If you feel this applies to you, please send an email to Firsts Captain
Mens Third Team
The CPR Thirds play in Division 3 of the Cosmopolitan Soccer League. Playing level is very competitive with many guys having played college soccer or at a similar level. The average age of the players is around 24-25 with the full age range falling between 20-30 as it’s an open level competition. If you feel this applies to you, please send an email to Thirds Captain
Old Boys (Over 30s)
The Old Boys are an Over 30s team and play in the highest Over 30 Cosmopolitan Soccer League Division. They were in the O30s final this past season and finished 2nd place for the prior two seasons (2015-2016 and 2014-2015) so continue to be one of the top teams there. The Old Boys play in a competitive league containing many international and former D1 players (some are just a little slower than their earlier playing days). The team is very social, with a typically good pub turnout after games and at club and team outings. But we also take our soccer seriously and intend on competing for the league title each year by weighting minutes toward the best players. If you feel this team is right for you, please send an email to OldBoys Managers. Please include your age, your position, and brief history of your soccer career.
Always looking for talented players!
Orange (Over 30s)
New 2016-2017 CPR team (nee Nieuw Amsterdam), description coming soon…
If you feel this team is right for you, please send an email to Orange Managers. Please include your age, your position, and brief history of your soccer career.
Legends (Over 40s)
Yes, actually this team was started by some CPR “legends”. 250+ caps and many pieces of hardware credited to some of the stalwarts. But don’t despair, among the wily veterans there is room for some new recruits as well. All players good enough to make the roster who RSVP and turn up will get their share of minutes. But make no mistake, this is not a casual kickabout team. We finished runners up in our Division in 2013-2014 while playing the eventual Champions tight in 3 games separated by a single goal. We intend to win every game we play, and while we understand it’s amateur soccer, we expect players to respect their teammates and show up when they say they will and give it their best effort. To apply to be a Legend, you will play well with others both on the field and at the pub after games. Contact Legends Managers. Please include your age, your position, and brief history of your soccer career.
Always looking for talented players!
The Women’s White team competes in the A Division of the New York Metropolitan Women’s Soccer League and won the league and the State Cup in 2016. If you feel this team applies to you, please contact Women’s White Captain
